Calling all cash flows
When you are trying to buy the market's best stocks, it's worth checking up on your companies' free cash flow once a quarter or so, to see whether it bears any relationship to the net income in the headlines. That's what we do with this series. Today, we're checking in on Fiesta Restaurant Group (Nasdaq: FRGI ) , whose recent revenue and earnings are plotted below. - [By Roberto Pedone]
Fiesta Restaurant Group (FRGI) owns, operates and franchises fast-casual restaurants under the Pollo Tropical and Taco Cabana brand names. This stock closed up 10.5% to $34.73 in Friday's trading session.
Friday's Volume: 552,000
Three-Month Average Volume: 220,525
Volume % Change: 140%From a technical perspective, FRGI ripped sharply higher here right off some near-term support at $30.89 and back above its 50-day moving average of $34.23 with strong upside volume. This move pushed shares of FRGI into breakout territory, since the stock took out some near-term overhead resistance at $33.14. Shares of FRGI are now starting to move within range of triggering another key breakout trade. That trade will hit if FRGI manages to take out some near-term overhead resistance at $35.73 with high volume.
Traders should now look for long-biased trades in FRGI as long as it's trending above its 50-day at $34.23 or above $33 and then once it sustains a move or close above $35.75 with volume that hits near or above 220,525 shares. If that breakout hits soon, then FRGI will set up to re-test or possibly take out its all-time high at $38.84. Any high-volume move above that level will then give FRGI a chance to trend north of $40.

Bradley C. Bower/Bloomberg/Getty Images In any given week, some stocks are sure to shoot up, and others will plummet. The big gainers inspire us to keep investing. The presence of the decliners keeps our greed in check while reminding us about the risks of the equity markets. Let's go over some of last week's best and worst performers. Avanir Pharmaceuticals (AVNR) -- Up 64 percent last week Last week's biggest gainer was Avanir Pharmaceuticals. The volatile biotech soared after revealing favorable clinical trials data on its AVP-923 drug candidate that treats agitation associated with Alzheimer's. This is a major hurdle cleared on the long path to gaining regulatory approval, but this is just the second of three clinical trial phases that Avanir needs to shine through to get its treatment on the market. Novatel Wireless (NVTL) -- Up 33 percent last week Novatel Wireless moved higher after IT products distributor and services provider Synnex announced an expanded deal to offer Novatel products throughout the U.S. and Canada. H.C. Wainwright followed by initiating coverage of Novatel with a buy rating and a $4 price target that it deems as conservative and one that it's likely to raise "sooner rather than later." Apogee Enterprises (APOG) -- Up 14 percent last week There weren't too many companies reporting quarterly results last week, but Apogee was one that managed to shine through. The provider of value-added glass products and services saw revenue soar 30 percent in its latest quarter. Adjusted earnings climbed 67 percent to $0.35 a share, beating Wall Street expectations. The strong showing finds Apogee raising its outlook for fiscal 2015. VirnetX (VHC) -- Down 65 percent last week The market's biggest loser was VirnetX, shedding nearly two-thirds of its value after an unfavorable patent ruling. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit rejected a jury award of $368.2 million that VirnetX initially won against Apple (AAPL) in 2012 for patent

Apogee Enterprises (NASDAQ: APOG ) has carved out a cozy living making value-added glass products for the architectural and picture-framing industries. Another thing it does is make analysts look like perpetual underachievers. If analysts say the company posted a profit of $0.17 a share in its latest quarter, I'll whip out a "greater than" sign. History's on my side!

I went out on a limb last week, and now it's time to see how that decision played out.
I predicted that Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL ) would close higher on the week. The consumer-tech giant was approaching new lows, and it seemed as if the fears of its demise and hype over recently introduced smartphones were overblown. Apple shares benefited from a bullish week of trading, climbing 1.6% on the week. I was right. I predicted that the tech-heavy Nasdaq would outperform the Dow Jones Industrial Average. (DJINDICES: ^DJI ) . This has been a tricky call lately, so how did it play out this time? Well, the market rallied in a major way this week, with secondary stocks leading the way. The Nasdaq soared 2.8% on the week. The Dow managed to close just 2.1% higher. I was right. My final call was for Apogee (NASDAQ: APOG ) to beat Wall Street's quarterly profit target. The maker of value-added glass products for the architectural and picture framing industries has been beating Wall Street estimates consistently over the past year. Why should that end? Analysts were looking for a profit of $0.17 a share during the quarter, and it came through with net income of $0.15. I was wrong. Two out of three? I can do better than that. Let me once again whip out my trusty, dusty, and occasionally accurate crystal ball to make three calls that may play out over the next few trading days.

Former Philadelphia Fed President Edward Boehne elegantly described the approach at a Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting in late 1989:
ow, sooner or later, we will have a recession. I don think anybody around the table wants a recession or is seeking one, but sooner or later we will have one. If in that recession we took advantage of the anti-inflation (impetus) and we got inflation down from 4 1/2 percent to 3 percent, and then in the next expansion we were able to keep inflation from accelerating, sooner or later there will be another recession out there. And so, if we could bring inflation down from cycle to cycle just as we let it build up from cycle to cycle, that would be considerable progress over what wee done in other periods in history./p>

Also interesting is that the duration of rising rate environments is distinctly shorter after 1982. The average duration declines to 14 months from 40 months prior to 1982. A possible explanation could be changes in the monetary mechanism influencing interest rates. In 1982, the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) first referenced a targeted federal funds rate.7

Advisors' Opinion:- [By JuhiKulkarni]
InvenSense (INVN) has been making a decent attempt to land an opening in Apple's (AAPL) gadgets, yet until now, the organization's exertions have been a waste. On the other hand, late reports demonstrate that InvenSense may have at long last arrived a spot in Apple's approaching iphone 6. Craig Hallum as of late said that "there is a decent risk InvenSenseiphone 6-pivot movement sensor and that it could bring about $50m in deals and $0.25 EPS over a year's opportunity."

Company Background
Let me take a minute here to tell you more about InvenSense. The company is a producer of MotionTracking (company trademarked) products that are used in consumer electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets, wearables, gaming devices etc. The motion sensors are becoming a sensation among users of these devices as it provides an intuitive way to users for communicating seamlessly with the device. The primary function of these sensors is to translate the motions of the users in free space to executable input commands. Samsung (SSNLF) represents one of InvenSense biggest clients with its technology being used in Samsung flagship products like Galaxy S5, Gear 2 and Gear Fit.
After the results
InvenSense is going all out to tap opportunities across several end-markets such as mobile and wearable devices. As such, the company increased R&D spending to bolster product development. However, analysts were not impressed, as they saw short-term gains instead of long-term prospects. Since InvenSense could be a key beneficiary of Google's (GOOG) (GOOGL) Project Ara, and it could land a spot in Apple (AAPL) smart devices, the recent drop has opened a window of opportunity for investors to buy more shares.
Android markets under its command
InvenSense is known for its motion-tracking sensors and has managed to create a solid position for itself in the Android universe. Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S5, Google's Nexus 5, and Amazon's Kindle Fire all contain InvenSense chips.
Analysts at Baird are of the opinion that InvenSense is selling a larger number of gyroscopes to Samsung for the latest flagship than originally expected. Coupled with
